Tom & Marina: an Orthodox wedding in Lefkara village

Tucked away in the lace-filled village of Lefkara, Tom & Marina’s destination Orthodox wedding was nothing short of magical. From the sacred traditions of the Orthodox ceremony to the winding stone-paved streets and stunning sunset views, every detail came together perfectly in this timeless Cypriot setting.

The wedding took place in a beautiful stone Orthodox church nestled in the heart of Lefkara. The moment Marina entered, with candlelight glowing and hymns filling the air, there was a calm reverence felt by all.

From the crowning ritual to the ceremonial walk around the altar, the couple embraced every aspect of the Orthodox tradition with grace and joy.

After the ceremony, we wandered through Lefkara’s historic streets for portraits. Narrow alleys, blooming bougainvillea, and mountain views made the perfect backdrop for soft, candid moments.

Their connection was effortless—and as a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more naturally romantic couple to capture.

The day flowed into a joyful evening filled with traditional Cypriot music, dancing, and cuisine. Under the warm light of lanterns and stars, guests celebrated with laughter, clinking glasses, and plenty of Zorba-style dancing.
